Working with an Interpreter

Should you require an interpreter to be present at your appointments we are happy to arrange this for you. Your GP should notify us of your wishes on the referral form, stating the preferred language and, at times, the gender of the interpreter.

We will then contact our translation and interpretation service and arrange for an interpreter to attend at the arranged date and time of your appointment.

Your practitioner will meet with the interpreter before your appointment to brief them on the Inclusion Matters appointment process so that they are well prepared to interpret the session between yourself and your practitioner.

Your interpreter will be asked to translate what is said clearly and directly between you. In order for this to be most successful, your practitioner will also arrange for a longer appointment time so that the addition of interpretation does not negatively impact on your therapy time.
